Looks amazing anyhow. No problem! ;D

Yeah, other than the scribbly line layer.
Should probably have colored it in SAI for practice, but ah well. XD

Ohhh
Well duh xD; Why didn't I think of that
It's been a while since I used my photoshop ;_; It still lags horribly on my laptop

XD No worries.
And that's too bad.. I'm just more comfortable with it than SAI for the time being.
There are some settings on PS that could help with the lag issue >> It seems to do that for a lot of people.

Hmm, I'll need to search that up. I would love to use photoshop freely again xD

Hope you get it working XD;
If your PS has the relatively same layout as mine, you can go to Edit>Preferences>Performance and adjust some things to allow PS to use more space, which sometimes lets it work better.
I have the cache tile size to its max and the cache levels pretty high up there, too. Maybe that'll work? Or it might be something else entirely...

(lol I kept this message in my message board so I can remind myself to do these said settings)
I think it helped a little. :> Oh yeah did you ever go to the Pixar masterclass thingy?

That's good XD PS is a lot different from SAI though, lol.
I did indeed! It was all covered in two days. One was over the broad topic of animation and the other day was story.
They basically did take up the whole day but it was so interesting to hear what these people had to say. They covered stuff like how to flesh out a character by asking yourself questions concerning their personality (or finding motivations of that character), how shots in a movie/comic affect the mood (like camera zoomed into a face full screen makes for drama) and camera angle for high contrast and good silhouettes. It's amazing, because every single little thing has a purpose- every stone turned over in the movie process. The story part even got me going on a potential comic alongside a friend. It was a great class!
Are you thinking of taking it sometime? I wonder if they have it every year.

I know. Photoshop was like my baby for a long time, but when I started using my own laptop, it was slowing down. D': But it's all good now! I like using both of them in conjunction.
Dang, that sounds really fun! I'm glad to hear you benefited from that class! I've been working on a story of my own for a long time, and I would have loved to hear ways to improve upon it from the masterclass itself. I think if they hold the masterclass again next year, I will definitely go! It sounds like a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity though. :/

Just keep asking yourself questions about your story I guess XD Like writing a story or are you planning on making a comic out of it?
I hope you'll be able to go. They'll probably be hosting it in other locations though.. xP

Yeah I'll continue doing that. And yeah I'm planning to make a comic about it. XD If worse comes to worse and I don't ever find the time to draw all of it out, perhaps I'll just continue to write it for fun.
I hope they'll have it somewhat nearby next year too (Austin wasn't exactly nearby, but it was in-state at least) :'D

Is it a "fancomic" or completely original?
And considering the other locations, I'd say it wasn't all that bad! I think there was one in Canada and the other was in Europe... I think? But yeah, we gave them a good impression of Texas and I'm sure they'll be considering coming back in the future.

This was all done on one layer, I guess that's my definition of painting XD
Building up on what you have, rather than use layers for the lineart, another for the base colors, another for the shading and all. Probably not the proper way to say it, but in any case it's relaxing to do.

Hmm, alright. Is there a specific kind of brush setting you use? Do you change the opacity?

sevenluck In reply to Enlei [2011-07-28 01:46:46 +0000 UTC]
I have it set so that the pressure on the tablet determines opacity. That and the airbrush and size options are also enabled (tablet overrides brush panel setting). I just use the regular rounded brush in photoshop, I haven't messed with the settings much in the past.
