Too bad I did not read that passage, my life would have taken a different turn but no, I wanted to know more, find that city.

Took me many years but after spending time with the nomadic tribes in the area I was able to piece together the strange tale of a long forgotten race of men. They had learned many forbidden secrets of Life and Death and for some reason decided to shun the surface and go underground to live in declining decadence. They were great long before the Pyramids were a gleam in their creator's minds. There were other stories too.

The tribal elders had warned me but I was doomed, I had to be the one to find out the truth. Well, now I crouch and hide and even run in a vast necropolis while the slow measured tread and glow of the torch from the headless guard dog my steps.

Ammo gone, food and water getting low, my electric torch died 2 days ago but at least there is some sort of glow so its not totally black. I will evade my pursuers, maybe.
