WOW! This is stunning Tor, especially for a speedpainting! Attempting something like this would take me hours! His mane and fur is gorgeous, but what I really love about this are his eyes. You can see the will to live and hunt that a real lion posses through those eyes.
And I really like his mouth -- the blackish part, specifially. Dunno what its called, but you made it appear so realistic and not just dark.

Hehe well uhmmm just find yourself a good ref, start with sketch, then base colours and add shadows, smudge, add more, smudge, etc. xP the last I do highlights owo the eyes are most fun to do

Cool, I'll have to try that! OMG, TOR! I forgot to tell you. I'm doing a painting! As in, a real painting on canvas in real life with a real paint brush! *spazz*
There's an art club at my college, where you can just go and do any art you like, so I went last week to try it out. The instructor in charge was so nice, she told me I should try painting, which I have never done before. So ya, I hope to finish it this week! That's my awesome news!

Yeah, it is really hard! I drew about 40 different sketches with a pencil before I decided on what to do. I'm painting Alnaemi and Thahari, I've got em by a pond with this African grass that doesn't look at all like African grass all around them. XD Gonna do some reflections in the water...I think its gonna be an epic fail, so I figured I might as well try out everything. Lol
