Description
Heading down the mountain trail, the soft, unmistakable chime of one of the rarest plants met his ears. He paused in his travels, cocking his head this way and that as he looked around and used his superior hearing to try and pick out where it was coming from. There was no soft glow of Nirnroot catching his eye in the twilight, so he started to question if he were gong mad.

Continuing on, he swept his eyes over the landscape until a glow just barely reached his eyes far in the distance. However, as he drew closer to it, it was peculiar in that the glow was much brighter than Nirnroot he'd seen in the past--not to mention that soft chime he had first picked up on continually grew louder, much louder than he had ever heard, even up close. As the sun started to set behind the mountains, the vampire came upon a farmhouse, and just past it on the trail, a small fieldlength of planted Nirnroots.

Curiosity peaked, he looked around for any caretakers of the farmland, but, seeing none, he moved into the patch and knelt beside one of the rather large plants. It seemed very well cared for, though it absolutely baffled him that there were so many! He had seen potted Nirnroot in Cyrodiil, but this was beyond his knowledge. The leaves on the several specimens within his reach had plump leaves and had no bug bites to be seen, were healthy in color, and were well rooted in the soil they sat on.

A cleared throat startled him from his contemplation about the quality and curiosity of just how someone had cultivated so many Nirnroot in one area. Looking up, his eyes locked on a particularly dark Dunmeri woman, clad in a common worker's dress, obviously stained with possibly the same soil the Nirnroots all sat in now.

"Oh, pardon my intrusion, sera." He apologized, standing to face her.

"You havent picked any, have you?" She asked with a thick Morrowind accent, though, unlike Thurvayn's, was more modern. If she had any curiosities about Thurvayn's obvious height, she didnt seem to show it.

The vampire's eyebrows raised at hearing it. He had noticed she looked surprised at how he had addressed her, so surely both had startled one another with the knowledge of them meeting another homeland Dunmer.

"No, sera, I assure you I havent. Are you the keeper of all these?" Thurvayn had to ask, not bothering to conceal his obvious tone of curiosity.
"Yes I am; you know of Nirnroot?" She inquired.
"Why yes. They are highly valuable for any alchemist." He replies. "Wherever did you learn how to keep this many like this--? Oh, pardon my manners, I am Thurvayn." He introduces.
"An alchemist, hm?" the woman ponders. "I am Avrusa Sarethi." she says with calm intrigue at this man. "To answer your question, I learned it from Sinderion, a prominent Nirnroot specialist back in Cyrodiil before the Oblivion Crisis. I studied under him before returning to Morrowind and opening shop in Vivec City." she explains.

Thurvayn looks surprised. "Sinderion? I worked with him as well! I brought him several dozen specimens for his research."
Avrusa took on a look of surprise herself. "So you are the one he always praised! By the Gods, this is an honor! He would always tell me of a man that had brought him scores of samples, never relenting!" She pauses as Thurvayn chuckles. "He taught me how to grow Nirnroot from seeds when we had evacuated here after Red Year. Pity I havent seen him in many years; he said he was on a search for Nirnroot off in one of the Dwemer ruins--however well that works I'll never know.

"If you know Sinderion and Nirnroot so well, then you must be one talented Alchemist." She finally concludes.
The vampire nods. "I was the finest in all of Nibenay for several hundred years. I would receive pleas for my specialty medicines from all over Tamriel. I moved here only a few years ago when my home of Cheydinhal became much too dangerous for me to stay any longer." He explains.

"Your accent betrays you, though." Avrusa points out. "You are from Morrowind. Why Cheydinhal?"
Thurvayn nods quietly at her observation. "You are correct. I was born and raised in Morrowind. However, familial circumstances made me move to Cyrodiil." he said.
"What house?" she asked curiously, seeming to be trying to figure out why a proud Dunmer would leave the homeland.
"Indoril, muthsera."
Avrusa's expression changed to surprise. "One of the loyal. This is ever more an honor."
He chuckles. "Yes well, ever more an honor in that I not only apprenticed under Lord Sotha Sil in my young days, but also fought in Lord Vivec's army in the Four Score War. Then became one of His personal Ordinators."
Avrusa put a hand to her lips. "Whatever is such a loyal and honorable Dunmer doing on my humble little farm?"
He chuckles. "Making my way in any way that I can." He replies. "Just as every other Dunmer that cannot return home.
"I am curious about your house then, sera." He replies.
She waves a hand. "I was a Telvanni, but rejected much of their teaching. The only magic I have dealt with is alchemy, as well."

"Ah." Thurvayn nods. He finally gestures to the farmhouse. "Might you need a hand around the farm, muthsera?" He asks.
She gives him a sly look. "Are you asking because you wish to have a share of my Nirnroot?"
Both share a laugh.
"Not necessarily~" He chuckles.
"Unfortunately no, my sister and I have the farm well cared for~ But I do have a task I've needed done, if you so wish to help out a woman." She replies with a good-hearted smile. "I need 20 helpings of Jazbay Grapes. I have not been able to leave the farm, and they are quite uncommon for me to come across." She says.
The vampire nods. "I would be glad to search for some on my travels for you, muthsera~" He gives her a polite bow and moves to head off.
"And dont pick any of my Nirnroot when I'm not looking!" She calls after him, teasing.
He looks back to her and gives her a smile, then waves before heading off.

Part 1 of ??
Part 2: [link]

Because I dont have Skyrim, i get to plan for the day (many years from now probably >.> ) that i WILL have it. One of the things that I wanted to explore was the possibility of Thurvayn marrying. ;D Looking over the options of availible dunmers, I found avrusa very very appropriate for thurvayn, and started thinking up how they would meet and such.

I wanted to do a little more work on these pictures, start trying to paint backgrounds and such. While i know i STILL suck at backgrounds, i'm quite happy with this one and i think it looks awesome ewe

8| avrusa is sooo dark skinned... when i first saw her, my jaw dropped. i mean, i know she's a Dark Elf, but c'mon, not that dark. ;O; however, i figured that should skin color be genetic, at least their kids would turn out a normal dunmeri color LOL *shot for being idiotic*

eh. more to come.

avrusa and TES are (C) bethsoft.
thurvayn and art is (C) to meeee
