Description ⌠ Flowers ⌡

Boots thudded lightly against the worn path.

Today, Claus was on a different route while out for his walk. The ginger made his way towards the familiar village of Tazmily. In hand, flowers. They weren't just any flowers to Claus… These were his mother's favorite, the sunflower. Red and green lenses slid down to the bright yellow pedaled flowers that were carefully cradled in his left hand, distance memories resurfacing slowly.

Years ago, the twins had asked Hinawa why she liked sunflowers. It was something that always bewildered the boys. She merely gave a gentle laugh, knelt down in front of them, and held out a sunflower.

'Sunflowers are bright and strong flowers. They always look on the bright side of things, looking up at the sun no matter how dark it gets outside, or where the sun goes. No matter how bad it rains or how bad things get, they always keep strong, and wait for that sun to shine above them again. '

Fascinated by this, both of the twins agreed that these flowers were really great, Claus vocally announcing to Hinawa that they were his favorite too, and Lucas agreeing right behind his older twin.   Hinawa merely smiled at her sons, before handing the two sunflowers of their own. Excited to have their own sunflowers, the boys ran off, the ginger pulling the blonde with by his hand in a fit of laughter.

Claus gave a smile as he sat in front of the grave, arms crossed over his knees, and the sunflowers he had brought… Before Hinawa's tombstone.

"Hey, mom… I brought our favorite."

⌠Wrath⌡

He knew he messed up. He knew he failed to complete the mission. And he knew what was waiting for him when he were to report in to his superior.

→ Fear crawled up his spine as he left the familiar laboratory, leaving behind it's sterile scent of disinfectants, preservatives and blood. The Chimera slipped on the silver helmet, his expression as hollow as it ever had been, even with the impending punishment coming for him. Scarlet locks remained exposed under the metallic surface of the helmet, diagnostic results scrolled past his crimson lens, mission objectives flashing just after the diagnostics.

Everything was running as smoothly as it ever had.

→ Upon making his way to his master's quarters, the Chimera had to stop a moment to take a short breath, and remove the metallic helmet from his head. Tucking it under his left arm, he entered the enormous room.

→ The Commander stopped, posture erect and arm canon raised in a salute. He said nothing, and didn't dare move until ordered otherwise.

"Well?" The voice of his master, a taller, bulky man of an indeterminable age.

→ Footsteps from his right, he didn't dare look. His eyes focused in front of him than to where his master was approaching. The Commander opened his mouth to speak, to tell the man of his failure, but was met with a sharp pain across his face.

"I'm not interested in your excuses! Shut up!"

→ The Chimera slowly took his previous stance once more, showing no signs of his pain. He didn't speak any further. His master's will was law, after all.

"You failed, Commander! How did you let that damned boy get the needle?!"

→ He says nothing, having no command to respond. Once again, he is met with another sharp pain, one much worse than the previous, and in the same location. No sound is uttered from the Commander, and the lack of a response only begets another blow from his master.

"Out of my sight, Commander! Next time you fail me, I will make sure you don't come back from that damn laboratory!"

→ He salutes once more and makes his leave, what pain he should be in, he doesn't feel. The wrath of his master was dulled today… This debriefing was nothing compared to the last.
