Becker Sr: Papyrus? He'll not tell you anything about him. Papyrus is dead. He died in a timeline before that, 4 years ago. Becker Jr doesn't even remember that he had a brother.
He got this damn amnesia after a Reset. Something went wrong during the Last Reset. The Reset occurred partially. Some areas were recreated and some monsters forgot what happened.
But now, we also have some residents frightened by the incident and faults in some areas. Waterfall and Hotland suffered the most. Including Core, but almost no one goes there.
Some monsters who died in that timeline didn't appear in this. I have assumptions about this, but I cannot confirm them. I don't have enough information about what happened,
and the only witness to all this has nothing to remember. Also, the question remains unanswered where person disappeared in the timeline before...

Because the persons who died didn't come back. And Becker suffered from amnesia. That means the wordline changed, and Resets can't restore the original timeline. Like in a normal world. If you use a time-travel machine to go in the past and change a minor event, you'll change the whole worldline and can have a war in the future. That's how a so-called Reset is supposed to work. Playing with timelines is actually extremely dangerous and random. If your best friend is murdered on a Monday at 17:00, and then you go to the past to avoid his death, he'll die drowned at 17:00. Next time, he'll choke on the same hour. That's called converging points. Normally, all worldlines are converging multiple times on the same common events. Except some rare worldlines which are exceptions. But in Undertale, there are only 27 timelines possible, and only 3 worldlines with predefined converging points : Pacifist, Neutral and Genocide. Nothing else can happen. If you "Reset" and go in the past, despite being in a different worldline, you'll automatically still go back in the exact same original timeline each time. *smiles* And that's physically impossible, except if laws of physic don't exist anymore ! Papyrus being dead despite a Reset should mean that now, physics are kinda ruling your world...Ah but these are only assumptions, I didn't even study your timeline ! *nervously rubbing the back of her head*
