Hmm well you can always lower the opacity on your brush when doing detail work. That might help a bit (:

The one I use most often is Paint Tool Sai for linework and blending. (I highly recommend this one) But its only free if you have a friend that has it and can give you the files. Otherwise you'll have to buy it. Another one is probably the Gimp. I haven't really used it much but I heard that it works pretty much exactly as photoshop and its free to download too.

I hear alot of good things about paint tool sai. But doesn't that require a membership that eventually runs out? Although I think I will try gimp first since it is free. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me! I really appreciate it
