Valentina noticed his eyes glancing over her. The way he spoke to her. His body-language, that tone, snarky yet gentle. She couldn't quite pinpoint it. "Envious! She said, her eyes slightly widening to showcase the brightness of her eyes. "Why, sire. Aren't you fond of flattering yourself." She said half mockingly. She was actually quite intrigued. This man had the audacity to speak to her that way. Of course, it wasn't like she was anything special. But Valentina liked to think otherwise.

She hesitated as he assured her that Luca was safe. His face twitched in a way that almost seemed like he was going to create a sly smirk. It was as if he shared a private joke within himself. Valentina sighed on the inside. Perhaps ego was something this man should work on. However, who was she to accuse him of such? For she herself thought a bit too highly of herself.
