Description This is my daughter during her pre-wedding preparations.. Done on dura-lar, 14 x 17" with 2b, 4b, 9b graphite pencils, blending sticks and sponges. I haven't decided if it's "final" final.. may do some more on it.. why is it that I'm so reluctant to call anything done?

thank you! and thanks so much for the favorite too! I use paintbrushes to lay down graphite on the softer areas.

You're welcome. I've never tried using paintbrushes with graphite, hpw is it done?

I have a set of cheap paintbrushes, nylon I think, and I scribble graphite on a blank pad, swipe the brush across it and paint the graphite onto my drawing. build it up in layers if needed.

You're very welcome, there's one in my gallery on paper instead of Duralar film so you can see the difference, it's called "Claire" and was done almost entirely with paintbrushes. Enjoy!

I checked out the Claire picture, it's gorgeous. I think that the Duralar film you use (I had to Google it ) is somewhat similar to the parchment that I use in some of my portraits. It allows me to get really smooth effects on skin and for animals it can let you add embossed areas to the face - the nose or eyes for instance. Thanks for sharing your techniques with me, it's really interesting to learn other artists methods.

You're very welcome! I love Duralar for some things but it's a bit too smooth for others, all depends on what I want the outcome to be. I'm still learning, I've only been drawing about a year and have a long way to go!
