Description I really didn't know where this was going to go. I wanted to paint a nighttime seascape, but that's about it. I had no reference so it just sort of evolved.Β  I had a lot of trouble with the boat. A little ways into the painting I got the idea it was going to be about something forgotten or past - like the day. And that's the boat, once a source of pleasure or work, now forgotten and abandoned. The boat went through several iterations. Some looked like toys, and most were standing too tall.Β  I like the way it came out in the end.

Thank you so much. The boat took a few do overs to get right. I have a journal on my page that links to the time lapse video of me painting this.

If you look at the video , you'll see the boat changed a few times

Yes there is something about this painting that is wonderful. Cant really explain exactly what it is. It certainly makes me feel like I'm standing on the shore.

Very beautiful.

I didn't know where this was going to end up I guess I could've rendered it more, but I like the roughness.

I really like the visible brushstrokes, make it look more like an oil painting. I think it suits the theme and scene better too.
