Witchcraft

Contrary to the popular believe witchcraft was not very diffuse in the middle ages, educated peoples considered magic with contempt for philosophical and theological reasons. Philosophical because magic is based on distance action, notion that was considered with suspicious by the middle ages physic that favored instead the contact action model. And theological because the baptism and the liber arbitrium doctrine were supposed to prevent the demons from directly harming peoples. Only transient and illusionary effects were possible and even in this case weak and easily dispelled by simple prayers.

Witchcraft was instead the product of late middle ages and early modern era, reaching its peak around 1600. The Craft was particularly diffuse among women of a middle educational level that were able to read the various Grimoires.

Hope you will enjoy it!

Thank you! A photorealistic photomanipulation seem a little stupid to say  but it is what I was aiming for this picture (in other word a photomanip. that does not seem to be a photomanip.)
