unbeliveable O.o
I use a sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Macro 1:2 and NEVER get such great sharp pictures :/ how do you do this?

I'd like to say it was skill, but, the 100-400L IS lens is a very expensive (to me anyways) lens, and with the image stabilizer feature and good light, it can take some amazing pictures. I also have the 70-200L IS, and that one is even sharper, but of course lacks the extra reach. I also use a monopod when i carry this lens/camera combo as it becomes quite heavy after a while and the monopod adds to the stability. Not as good as a tripod but I find for birding the monopod is quicker to use and easier to carry around. After all that, I just take lots of pictures, check my settings as I go, adjust as needed and hope for the best.
