Description

"If we are looking for group, why are we there?" asked Maylara, sighing. "They told us that we should do this in a tavern or something."

"Pffft" said Neroe. "That damn orc in the Adventurers Guild say that. And I'm not doing anything that guy said!" answered Neroe.

"Then why if we aren't doing what he said, are we looking for group?" asked the drow. "We should simply leave and go for adventures in our own."

"Is all fault of the stupid Zannas Adventurers Guild and their liscence: As long we are 'level 1' in the rank of payment, they will keep giving us the lame missions. And I want adventure, not having to work as errand girl, or exterminator killing large rats, or all these other stupid 'quests' we have done so far. We are way better than this! That's why we should join an actual adventurers party, so we can finally leave Zannas and do something epic!"

The two elves keep waiting in the main street near the doors of the Free City of Zannas, looking to join for others adventurers: but there where way more traders, farmers and artisans crossing the streets, and the few adventurers who passed either spoke in their uninteligible jargon
"l0l. n00bz" taunting them, or just plainly ignored them, leaving for their own business.

"This isn't working" sighed Maylara. She thought all of this trip to Zannas was a mistake now: they should look for adventure in their own, as the winds blow! Not in a regulated city with laws and manuals for even how to be an Adventurer.

"Oh, don't get down" said Neroe with a smile. "Everything will work fine."

“You are doing it wrong” suddendly, said somebody to them.

"excuse me sir?" asked the mountain and drow elves. In front of them was a fat an greasy half-orc.
Half human and half orc, it must be said his orc side was a peaceful, large and chubby Vanolosé orc, not an orc warrior of any kind, so he didn't make an impressive figure.

"You are looking for group, right?"

"Yes?"

"You are doing it wrong" he said. He must be in his 80's, thought Maylara... but she have never been good calculating orcs, human and Kanov age.

The young fat alf orc, twenty-two years old, didn't looked like an adventurer in any way.

"And what know you about this, anyway?"

"I live in Zannas." he said. "And when Adventurers want some chicks to join their party, they expect something for them. Specially if they are elves."

"What?" said Neroe confused.

"Three words.
Chain-mail-bikini. Or at least less clothes!"

“If I wear any less clothes, people will ask me how much it costs the service, and I don’t mean the ones as adventurer” protested Maylara: They were only in their shirts, as being raised in the cold mountains of Nohalion wasn't the same as the mediterranean Zannaz climate...

“I’m just saying. Scantily clad adventurers had more attention.” said the half-orc, raising his shoulders. "You should as well look for group in a shadowy tavern with shadowy corners!"

"In chain-mail bikini?! We would get attention: but of jerks hitting on us!"

"that's my suggestion. take it or leave.
But remember.
Chain-Mail Bikiiiiiiiini" said the half-orc, as he dissapeared in the crowd...

I think they look better in their gear right here. Cute, stylish, and appealing.

Hold on just a second... I just noticed... Is that... Bill from Left 4 Dead?

XD

Yes! -more or less!- the commisioner had in other drawing commented about an elf looking like Bill from that game, and began to ramble about elves and zombies and steam-punk guns and such. So as a joke, I included an interpretation of the character in the background to see if somebody noticed. :3

lol oh well, its still neat.

Reading your little stories that go with the drawings; it's imaginative but they seem to have some grammar and spelling errors as if you forgot to go back and re-read/edit. At first I thought it was to show the dialect, like how the Orcs talked (which it still can be) but it seemed to also be consistent when there is no dialog. I must ask: How fluent are you in English?

Anyways just my two cents, it is still easily understandable and enjoyable.

How fluent? Not much. Or really, I'm very crappy with english

noneofurbussiness In reply to Shabazik [2012-06-24 04:23:05 +0000 UTC]

Eh, its not bad. It seems your biggest problem is getting the proper tense with words. Such as present tense, past tense, and future tense of words as well as when in releation to subject. Examples: I wore cloths, I wear cloths, they worn,She is wearing...

Vanolose dude cuts a dashing figure, with his floppy hat and impressive (and sharp!) tusks! All the more to show off his "rapier wit"?

"chain mail bikini"! LoL the embarrassment of fantasy artists! Yet creating female adventurers wearing armor to minimize mass and maximize sexiness is extremely common! Adventurer parties meeting up in a dark corner of a tavern are incredibly cliche--but a tavern is such a useful place for introducing an adventure to a party!

Actually, Neroe and May look pretty good in their street clothes! Like a couple of rogues! May is doing a remarkable job being sexy already with her tank top shirt and large bust! I love seeing the elves now being sort of shrunk in size relative to the humans around them.

The older, human, militaryesque gentleman behind them does seem awfully familiar? Of course, he could be a caricature figure of characters from many war movies? Nice work with the town, particularly the tile roofs to the houses. I also like seeing Neroe's amulet again!

Oh yes! Killing giant rats is serious business! Giant rats may be common vermin for adventurers to slay at low level, but they can be lethal! My DM would design powerful liches, god-like beings, and horrible monsters of his own devising--and send us to clash! Yet, it was running into giant rats (who, ironically, are only "small" in size!) that resulted in near--or actual--total party kills!

That man seem familiar, but I wasn't thinking in making him look alike to other characters! Just in the end I noticed the similarity! XO!

I'm glad you like the people and the background! :3

Giant rats. Yucky! XP

Hehehe, poor girls, that's what you get if going for adventure unprepared. ^^
I'd totally recommend them switching to FATE system, which is much more noob friendly, more flexible and ofc moar epic. ;> Not to mention that I could easily find at least one team interested in teaching two newbies how to go on adventure.

Heh the old guy in the background looks like a human Uncle Corvin. XD

And oh god, Chain Mail Bikinis... reminds me of this video [link]

Who'd have thought that becoming adventurers would be this difficult for them, but Uncle Corvin was a man, and he likely never told them of how the female companions of his adventuring parties were. XD
