Description Orc bandits in central Aels -from one of the "Red caps" revolts-, by the end of the 29 century a.a.H.

Ever since the War of the Seven Realms (2746-2760), it resulted in the end of the existence of independent realms of non-humans in the continent of Aels, with their territories being conquered and the non-human populations to be ruled by human monarchs.

However, often things weren't as clear cut, and while some non-humans tried to integrate into the larger human societies, and others tried to keep some levels of autonomy and self-rule under human rule, others tried to actively fight back, sometimes in large rebellions. In central Aels, in the Calintropian Empire of Purpurian, which had large and diverse non-human populations, often rebels would rise in form of the "red cap societies", sometimes comprising only some groups of non-humans, other times having orcs, elves, goblins and dwarves in their ranks.

The human rulers never recognised the attempts by these rebellions to create independent polities for non-humans, and routinely called them simply "bandits".

Orcs, while they had historically a martial history, by the 28 and 29 century, human military leadership often saw them too undisciplined to be able to field effective armies, saying that they where warriors but not soldiers, and despite the best efforts of orcish warlords -or bandit chieftains, as the Calintropians called them- to obtain gunpowder weapons that so often wrecked havoc in their lines, few times their gunners where properly drilled and trained: that and low quality of gunpowder and outdated weapons didn't made their gunners very effective, so often the orc "bandits" had to continue to rely on quick charges and to get to melee distance.

However, these racial views in the end didn't hold up in later centuries, when the ban on orc military service was lifted in the Calintropian Empire of Purpurian, and properly equipped, trained and drilled orcs -and other non-humans- showed that they too could fight in modern wars like their human masters. And as result of their sacrifices, would begin a process of recognition of self-determination to the non-human minorities among human nations.
