Just your average commute for a puff ball.I really like how this picture came out! Kirby just looks so squishy and cute. The clouds came out pretty nicely, but I think that they could use a bit more work since I think that they became a bit muddy in some places.

Well, now I'd love to see some kirby themed Poptarts, so... I'll be squirreling that idea away for a rainy art block day.
Thanks, I had to work pretty hard on making sure the colors didn't get too muddy, which is one of the challenges of painting rainbows (Digitally or traditionally)!

You're welcome! I know what you mean, there. I actually made an oil painting of Nyan Cat once, and I ended up trying to do the rainbow several times over because it turned to mud x_x I should have probably tried to paint every other stripe or something and waiting until they were dry to do the others lol

I actually have a Nyan cat shirt. I bought it like six years ago.
(Disclaimer: I'm not an oil painter) I'd say for oil painting try to only blend the very edge of each individual color if you must blend them. Though I would think waiting for the canvas to dry up a bit and using hard edges might be overall easier, especially since you wouldn't have to worry about distracting pixelated edges and all.

Yeah oils blend really well. Which is wonderful, I love to use them. But when you don't want to blend too much, you have to be pretty careful... Personally, though, it's still one of my favorite mediums, and I think working with them is worth that little sacrifice. Yeah waiting for it to dry is often my best bet to get nice clean colors. (Of course it takes literal WEEKS to dry, but hey, it's good to build patience, right?)

Sometimes it takes a while to get something just right, so I'd say even waiting a couple weeks would be totally worth it to get some really nice colors and to keep them from getting muddy. C:
