Description
In the aftermath of his defeat of Cell/saving the world and the loss of his father, Gohan is taken by surprise when his best friend/mentor/surrogate father/etc[insert meaningful relationship label] shows him a rare moment of emotion.Oh, the feels.
For once, I did a background that wasn't (completely) half-assed! *pats self on the back*
Standard formula: Copic liner and Promarkers with digital airbrush background and shading.

Gohan looks like the ending of the battle sent him into shock which isn't all that surprising... I can imagine at this point all he could do was just kneel there, lost on what to do next, and everyone else standing or hovering where they were, uncertain how to react to the fact that it's over, it's really over. Then, a flurry of movement and the next thing Gohan senses is warmth and a tight squeeze that hurts, but he welcomes it because at least it means he's still FEELING. And he'll hear that familiar deep, gruff voice of his mentor, meant only for his ears, murmur, "I've got you, kid." And then he knows it's okay to break, because someone else is there to pick up the pieces. Thanks for posting this picture.

Actually... Gohan seems to have the Thousand Yard Stare right there... this is heartwarming and sad at the same time, because Piccolo is comforting Gohan, but the boy looks outright broken.

I was just about to ask what happened here when I saw the description. I LOVED how freaked out Piccolo acted about Gohan fighting Cell alone during the Cell Games. I thought at moments there he might beat the hell outta Goku about it.

It could well have happened! But you know, Pic's probably too proud to show off his emotions to everyone, so this might have happened in private... (cue dirty comment lolol) though yes, they did go straight to Dende after this so not with all the wounds. But nevermind!
And yeah, I noticed after I drew it that it was his *other* arm that was broken, so I didn't add too much blood XD
