Meet Sir Calogrenant, one of the Knights of the Round Table. Here's a condensed version of my story for her.

Sir Calogrenant was a loyal knight until King Arthur was made immortal by the scabbard of Excalibur and became corrupt. Her loyalty to the welfare of the kingdom and its populace was stronger than her loyalty to the king.

She stole the scabbard and tried to take it back to the Lady of the Lake who had been the previous owner. She was pursued by the King's demon minions and the three Knights still loyal to the king; Gawain, Percival, and Lancelot. Her former friends and comrades did not want to kill her, but it was their job and they put their duty before their friendship.

Sir Calogrenant was able to lose Gawain, Percival, and the demon knights, but she could not shake Sir Lancelot. She ditched him momentarily and got to the lake, but he appeared seconds later and demanded that she return the scabbard to him or he would have to kill her. In response, she threw the scabbard into the water.

She turned to Sir Lancelot and knelt down, telling him that he'd better kill her now and get it over with, because it wasn't likely she'd be around much longer after her treason. Sir Lancelot swung his sword back to lop her head off, but couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead, he grabbed her arm and roughly jerked her to her feet. With a shove he told her to run, saying he'd tell them that she'd gotten away from him. She was shocked, but didn't argue. She darted into the forest.

Sir Lancelot turned to head back to the rest of the knights, but heard a startled shriek from the forest. It was Sir Calogrenant. He ran towards the cry.

Sir Calogrenant had not gotten fifty paces into the forest when she came face-to-face with one of the king's demon knights. But though she'd been caught of gaurd, she skillfully blocked its attacks on her. She quickly got the upper hand and with her huge sword, cleaved the creature down the middle, and it vanished. But her luck did not hold out. Just as Sir Lancelot got there, she was run through by a demon knight that had snuck up behind her.

As she fell, Sir Lancelot, in a fit of rage, attacked the demonic knight, killing it easily. He knelt over Sir Calogrenant and held her head in his arms where she died.
Minutes later the king, the demon horde, and the other two Knights showed up. Assuming that Lancelot had done the deed, the king congratulated him on slaying the traitor. Lancelot said nothing, for he could not reveal what had actually occured. Gawain and Percival stood in stunned silence, amazed that he had actually killed her (like the king, they didn't know what actually happened).

The king had one of his demon knights retrieve the scabbard from the water and callously threw Sir Calogrenant's body in. Then they all departed, Sir Lancelot quietly looking back over his shoulder.

Once all was silent at the lake again, the water began to ripple. Then the Lady of the Lake, Nimue, rose from the water holding Sir Calogrenant's body. She looked down at the lady knight sadly. It was unfair for such a noble being to be cut down the way she had been. Sensing Calogrenant's spirit unwilling the leave, Nimue used her magic and the willpower Sir Calogrenant had, and brought her back as a spirit to stay in this world until the day the Black Knight would be defeated.
Sir Calogrenant is now the ghostly gaurdian of the lake and its Lady, and calmly and silently awaits the day that the evil king will be defeated and the kingdom restored.

She will not leave till then...

Sir Calogrenant has all the water elemental powers that her counterpart Katy Thorn has and her longsword gives her great reach during attacks.
