Your photos are always so vibrant, do you do any post-production on them?
Such a beautiful bird! I'm really quite gutted I couldn't make the workshop.

no, I try not to adjust anything other than minor levels changes. I just don't have time to do tons of post-processing! Or patience. The reason I get good colours is I set everything manually and am constantly changing the settings with the light/backround/subject, if you correctly expose a subject and have the correct white balance you get the colours like this! I actually learnt to do this correctly last year on this workshop Laurie is a good teacher.

Must say that I tend to under expose though, I like darker shots, but they aren't to everyone's tastes!

There is always the other one in July if you really want to go! I probably won't because it will be the same thing repeated, but its a really good day if you want to step up your photography knowledge/skills

That's brilliant, I'll definitely have to go in July then. I always have trouble with my colours, but put it down to lighting ('course studio shots and outdoors shots are different)
That's the first thing that really drew me to the first photo of yours I saw, the nesting kittiwakes. The colours were so natural but so lively, it was really beautiful to see.

studio and outdoors lighting is different, but the principles are the same. The biggest difference is use of flash (which I never use)

I glad that you like that shot so much! I do too, thats exactly the kind of shot I'm trying to consistantly make, good portrayals of wildlife, just need to keep practising!

Defo go to the workshop, do you want me to forward you the pdf with the details?
