Description
I remember as a small child on Liberation Day as the group posed for the victory image that we would hang in memory to those that fell during the Machine War. I remember that the haze of battle was thick and chocking as I stood there trying to get some small memento or token to remember them by. I remember getting to help clean the grime, hydraulic fluid and even blood off the armor of these hero's to our community. The Town offered them their choice of land for them to stay and settle down, but to a man they all politely refused and reminded us that there were other town's and communities that were still fighting the Artificial's and until our planet was rid of them, no one was safe. I remember my sister as she tried desperately to catch the eye of any one of them in hopes of claiming the honor of continuing their line into the future. I still remember the honor and looks that others gave my sister as she carried one of the members offspring, and then the heart wrenching pain as she died during childbirth. I remember as my Nephew turned brother grew up and joined the worlds defense forces and is now one of their top Generals as we train and prepare for the day that brings back the Artifical's Masters as they try to figure out why their inquires go unanswered.
As for me, I sit here on my porch and tell the tales of when Bad Co. came to town and freed all of us from an slow and painful death from starvation and slavery.
