Description I finally found a photo of both my boyfriend and I together of our Chobits cosplay!! xD I'm so stoked! This was taken by Ollie of Orobouros.net at the Otakon 2010 Masquerade Fashion Show that we walked in I had found a teenytiny photo of us at some point, but this one is just more than I could ask for! <3

This was Armen's first cosplay ever, and he jumped right into Hideki so naturally =3 He walked across the stage doing a modest pose, with me prancing after him like Chii is usually doing Hideki! I was so nervous in front of so many people, but it was still so much fun.

I drafted and made his school jacket and green shirt from scratch. The jeans and backpack are his own. I also made my entire Chii costume. This was a dream cosplay since I was a teenager <3 I hope you like our Chobits tribute!

Hmmmm... Isn't that the dress that Chitose said was "made for Chi"? It's white in the artbook. Not that it matters. All that matters is that you did a fantastic job with it and you look great

Yes, it is that dress! Go figure, I haven't been lucky enough to see that artbook :C But this has always been my favorite dress from the manga and anime. I wish I could see more cosplay of it! I really appreciate the compliment on my sewing I majored in fashion design in college, and I guess they trained me well! Lots and lots of practice ^u^

Oh, really? You should try to track one down, because the artbook is soooooo gorgeous. Admittedly, it's so beautiful I bought the artbook before I'd even touched the series It's "Chobits Art Book: Your Eyes Only," if you're interested.

Since you said you hadn't seen it yet, I looked quickly on google and found the illustration of that dress from the artbook. Here's the link:

And yes, they did train you well ! I seriously wish they had a fashion design program here at my school, because I really really really wanted to take some classes... Oh well. Illustration will have to be enough for me

Thanks so much for showing me that... soo lovely! And I see it actually is a little different than the manga. It's so hard to find Chobits merch at cons these days since somehow Chobits is considered old(??) it's a shame! Maybe I'll order it online, it'd be worth it.
BTW your Zelda cosplay is awesome! That's so cool you can use your natural hair I want to do more cosplay without a wig...

AWWWW! Thank you! That means a lot from someone so talented , and 'cause its more simple than I wanted it to be... but with my lack of sewing no-how, it's either simple or potentially hideous .

Seriously, I basically only know how to hem (yuck, hemming...), and to sew stuff inside out. I don't understand patterns, since I have no idea what all the terminology they use means. My sewing method is a painful sort of guess and check method, making my own patterns and praying that somehow it will fit , and cutting and re-sewing when it doesn't. (thank goodness zippers are self-explanatory, because I have no idea what those instructions are saying either! )

Actually, if there's a Barnes and Nobles near you, you could buy the artbook there. That's were I got mine. That was about a year ago, I think. Every time I go they still have the artbook in stock , so if there's one near you then they'd probably have it!!!

And yes, sooooo worth it. I'm actually dying to make the dress that Chi wears on the cover - I think I could actually pull it off. Ugh, but buying enough packages of pearls at Micheals will be a nightmare of an expense

Seriously, hemming is legit! Many people can't hem... personally, I loathe doin' that part hahaha It's great that you re-work your garment if it doesn't fit. Sewing clothing takes so much patience due to the fact that it has to fit somehow T_T lol. Also, I hardly hear anyone describe zippers like that, so it's awesome that you get 'em! :3

I probably still have a giftcard laying around for that store... *hunts for it* Thanks for the tip! So, cosplaying Chii was a dream of mine for years and years. It definitely took a long time to make it happen, but if you want to make her outfit, do it, and don't give up on it xD There's 40% off coupons for Michael's somewhat often in newspapers!

Haha thanks Reuben! I was kind of picky about the shirt, since the actual one is a knit raglan sleeve style... making it was the only way to find that, lol! Too bad you can't see it here
