The Reaper in the Night Chapter 1

The theory if ghosts are real or not still remains a mystery to people.Many believe that ghosts are real but they are something that cannot be seen by the human eye.But there is one plane that can differ these believes between truth or myth.She is a hunter of demons who lurks among the shadows she is called a reaper if you see her its too late.Beware of her eyes they are like the galaxy but hold untold stories of the dead......beware of the shadowhunter.

The night was calm among the beach the soft motions of the waves crashing into the shore the sound of seagulls chirping among the dark of night.A F-18 mix sat proudly with her head held high her golden blue eyes twinkled like the stars above her.She sat alone watching and waiting for the dreams that haunted her every night since the incident."what are you doing out here by your self?" A male voice came from behind her the female looked only to see her brother named cloudjumper."nothing cloud its none of your business now go back to sleep." The larger hornet mix was not taking commands from his little sister."Is this about Star Saber again isn't it." The female turned her head away from her brother "I knew I could have done something to save him but I failed!" Her gaze resting on him once again"Echo stop blaming yourself it was those North Koreans I nearly lost you to that day." Echo could see the images crystal clear like it was yesterday something she cannot forget.Her brother cleared his throat her gaze never leaving the waves "look I didn't tell you this but you are getting stationed on a vessel named as the Dwight d flysenhower home to the Jolly Wrenches this could be good for you sis."she shook her head as he was saying that."Fine I'll go just as long as Eagle and Sickjoke both come with me." His expression never changed"Fine but you three are leaving once as they finish packing up." Echo sat up more firmly thinking about the cold killers as the Wrenches " are you sure I can trust these guys of teaching me their ways?" A smile spread across his face " you can count on them they would be like having a whole new bunch of brothers just ten times more cheeky than us." She let out a small laugh and rolled her eyes "goodnight cloudjumper I will see you in the morning." He dipped his head a left her in the darkness.She finally got to her gear and when back to her hangar to get some sleep but before she closed her eyes she looked at the moon and said "Goodnight Star saber I'll see you again one day."

---- Next Morning ----

Echos eyes flashed open to the sight of the morning sun infuriating the darkness of her room. She raised up and let out a huge yawn and stretched until she was fully awake and ready to start flying across the pacific ocean to reach the ship she was stationed on. The bulky doors slid away to let her into the warm air outside.She gave a quick look at the clock and it read 0600 which is 6:00 am in military time.She taxied down the runway to come to two hangars reading 217 and 607 her friends Eagle and Sickjokes callnumbers. "Come sleeping beautys time to get up we got a long way to go!" Echo listened carefully and heard a muffled" ughh...Echo please five more minutes." She only banged harder on the doors until she knew that they were up." Cone on five more minutes is like five more months to you Sickjoke.""EXACTLY!" Echo flinched at her friends sudden outburst " Jesus Christ just get your tail stabs up and going before I come in there and make you!" After a few minutes a purebred F/a-18 came out of the hangar 217 and shot awake to the sight of her superior captain." Morning Echo so what exactly are we doing today?" "It's not what but its where we're going Eagle." Her friend gave her a odd look "we are going to the Dwight D flysenhower for a while for a nice long training mission." A F-16 emerged from the other hangar " pack your bags girls we leave at 0200 pm."

---- A few hours later ----

The ocean was a beautiful blue color under the sun " Echo are we there yet." I rolled my eyes in extreme annoyance she had been doing that since we left. I spotted a ships water trail " well we are certainly not far behind it. " I kicked it into full gear eager to get to the ship. Then, a stale grey ship came in my view and I called over the radio " this is commander Echo Curyisi and who's ship am I speaking with." The radio was blank for a few moments until a clear transmission came through" This is the captain of the Dwight D. Flysenhower and what is your business here in these waters miss Curyisi?" " Well sir i am one of the three Navy Seals that you are housing for six months sir may we land now?" The voice didn't respond until we made a lap around the ship letting the aircraft aboard it getting a view of us. " Copy that Seal 105 you are clear for your vertical landing and for a wire catch." I gave Eagle to go for the glide path while me and Sickjoke both had a vertical landing.I was the last one to land and once as I lifted my visor up I heard cat calls from some of the male fighters. Two male fighters from the other side came to greet us " Hello my name is Bravo and this is my partner Echo." I heard Eagle and Sickjoke make a swift laugh and caught it once as I whipped my head around. " You must be the seals we have been hearing about lately." In his voice I could tell that he was caught off guard obviously thinking that we were males. " What are you surprised Navy boy. " I gave a devilish smirk. His eyes lit up and his cheeks when to a slight red color... Yep this guy has a crush on me." Well anyways bravo I'm actually wondering where our rooms are?" His focus coming back" umm... Yeah their under the deck first left then go all the way down and your rooms are right next to each other!" I gave him a small smile before heading to the elevator. " hey echo I think he likes you!" Sickjoke said in a hushed tone. I thought to myself ' And I think I like him too maybe this could actually be the best assignment yet.'
