Description
So this is Haijadhibitiwa, or just Jadhi or Haija for short, but everyone knows him as the Selfish Lion. Brother to queen Ushindi and uncle to king Mohatu, be was the leader of the Lion Guard then.

I kinda think that actually Lion Guards weren't allowed to have mates or children until they retired, because it was believed that it would distract them from the job. So when the Guards took on their duty, leaders and members alike, they made an oath, part of it being not forming attachments with someone.

Jadhi however wasn't able to keep his word in that part. He fell in love with a lioness from the pride and they quickly got secretly engaged and later married. Their little secret didn't last long since king Abasi himself caught them red-handed. The Lion Guard got exiled on the spot, and the king commanded the bravest to take on the leadership of the guard. Jadhi's mate followed him in exile the following day.

Since none of the Guard members proved to be a worthy replacement for their former leader, they disbanded, the kingdom quickly getting out of control. They tried to find Jadhi and convince him to go back and take on the Lion Guard again, but he refused to go back because not only he couldn't forgive them for exiling him like that, but because he found the life he always wanted and he was expecting family.

The king and former team of the Lion Guard returned to Pride Rock without him to tell the news. The Pridelanders were quick to start holding a grudge to Jadhi and they started calling him the Selfish Lion, passing false messages to the future generations about him, omitting any good things he ever did and praised the king for exiling him.
