Why yes, I do enjoy toying with/reversing stereotypes. It makes great comic material!

And yes, I do happen to like the Ralts evolutionary family. But why did I make THIS?

This comic stemmed from a discussion I've had with a friend of mine as well as an observation I came across when browsing through dA (and faved pictures of some random members regarding the Pokémon line). And also boredom.

Yes yes, we all know male Gardevoir are as feminine as females and they're confused for females as the main punchline, blah blah. That stuff is old. So I decided to mix it up a notch.

And by mix it up, I mean COMPLETELY FREAKIN' REVERSE THE IDEA, as well as completely break the gender rules of Pokémon. Know what I say to those rules? Kiss it! That's what.

... I get excited too easily over this stuff.

But yeah, I decided to have a scenario where a female Gardevoir mistakes a Gallade for being male, when this one is actually - gasp - female! After all, misjudgment is not limited to just men, don'cha know!

And I do realize the female Gallade is buff. Look at that physical attack. And then look at its ehh speed. To me, high physical attack with not-super-impressive speed leads me to believe that Gallade would be rather muscular and bulky like this. But of course, there's always the idea of athletic musculature. It's just, muscular women are hardly seen anymore.

So yeah, enjoy this product of boredom and twisted inspiration.

And from now on I promise lay off on the Ralts line for a while and vary my comic subject! You all have my word! I even have a non-Pokémon comic idea brewin' in my head!

... until I'm given a request that includes a member of the family or something. But who knows when that'll be? |D

btw, female Gallade should totally exist. Am I right, guys?
