There is no "Proper" pronunciation for this kind of stuff...and remember, by the technical definition, she is capable of impregnating others, and giving birth herself.

Several science fiction writers have been using the pronouns "Hir" (for his/hers/its), S/he (he/she pronounced sha-hee) or a variant "shi" (she/he/it) for some time. It was "mainstreamed" by authors such as Peter David in the Star Trek: New Frontier" series in reference to the Hermat species, and I am sure it has been used by many other sci-fi authors (specifically "shi"). Wikipedia only references Usenet, and that makes their entry somewhat suspect.

looks amazing, though can't help but think "very strange kitty boy/girl." what kind of hemaphorditic(sp?) society are they? are there male and female hermaphrodites, or are thy strait hermaphrodites? and what i mean by that is that i've read of races that are hermaphrodites, but some identified as male, and some identified as female, even though they were all basicly male and female.
