I woke up in a dream
As she met my eyes
She whispered to me
I spared her a smile
Said; "Come lay next to me."
Yeah, we lit that dream on fire

As I pressed myself into her
And ran my hand down her shirt
I knew that this won't hurt
Like all emotions do
Like all feelings do

She was afraid she may be someone else
But I would want to hold no one else
The beauty I saw was not what she saw in herself
The beauty her real friends see
The beauty us strangers see

I once held onto a dream
But it seemed all too brief
As wonderful she may be
Her husband is a thief
Stealing a fire he can't keep
He'll surely burn in his own grief
