Description Alright, so my brother made this awesome background for [link] . All credit on that part goes to him.

I also changed the colors after he pointed out to me that they look crappy on his screen upon which I found out that my screen's "contrast enhancing features" gives me pretty unreliable colors.

Looks pretty nice now, I think .

Hey, you deserve it! You're a waaaaaaaay better artist than me, in any case.

I think your shading style is really cool! One thing I noticed, though, was that the yoshi had five spikes. He should only have three, unless you're going for the SMW look, which has four.

Ah, just keep trying, practice makes perfect.

This picture is pretty old, my first attempt at drawing Yoshi. I think I was going for the SSBM style back then. You'll notice that he's got 3 spikes in all the newer works.

Well... you're a really good drawer! Really! Seems to be, from an official Artwork of Yoshi! ( also the background too!)

Hey, thanks (also for the fave)!

I myself think I did quite a few mistakes, but as long as people like it, that's fine with me .

Also, the background was done by ~ELStalky so all credit on that part goes to him.

I say with the background it is a definate improvement indeed! I think one of the most catching parts of this image is the fact that the highlights rely on the background's lighting, though I must say the thick lines bring down the highlights. I suggest finding a way to get pressure sensitivity into the pic, to weigh the lines. Look for lineart tutorials here on dA for help on that.

Also, good job getting Gimp to work for you, it just didn't want to agree with me.

Hey, thanks for the fave and the elaborate comment .

For the lines, they used to be thinner but it looked kinda stupid on the thumbnail (it kinda looked like there were no lines at all, but some "dirt" around the edges instead, it's hard to explain), so I made them thicker. I'll have to experiment a bit and get the thumbs to look better.

Pressure sensitivity is definitely an issue, as I'm currently doing all the lineart using paths in Gimp, and there seems to be no option to vary thickness along a path. On Yoshi. I had make the lines thinner towards their ends by hand (PITA), because they were so thick it''d just look stupid. Well, it's not like I have much of an option, since I don't have a tablet anyways .

But yeah, I guess I'll read through some lineart tutorials and see what I can do.

Gimp is pretty cool actually, I'm just a little annoyed by the fact that it's three separate windows, gets on your nerves when you have to get them back to foreground one-by-one.
