Description I looooooooove the Mad Cat (Timberwolf) so much. It's my second favorite 'mech in the Battletech universe after the Marauder. I was psyched when I saw that Iron Wind Metals had the Museum Scale mechs available for purchase after a long hiatus.

So, here's the fruits of my labor. I liked the final results and was overall pleased with the cockpit glass gradient and decal choices I made.

I do have to warn anyone thinking about buying this mini - it had some really visible mold lines in a lot of places and required a lot more work to fill some gaps and clean up than a kit like this should have.

You've got some mad skills dude. The gradient on the cockpit glass is stunning. You just gave me the confidence to try gradients on my 1/144 Gundam kits. I really like the paint job on the lasers and the feet, you really made the plastic look like brushed metal.

Thanks! I used dry brushing to achieve MOST of those effects. Example: for the feet, put brown on your brush then wipe nearly all of it off on a paper towel. Then just brush it over the area you want to look dirty. I did a similar thing for the cockpit, but I started with a dark blue and progressively dry brushed lighter colors until I got that effect.

There are models and miniatures of the Marauder out there, but they're all discontinued and hard to find.

Here's a Battletech mini of the Marauder II I did,

The design of the Marauder is technically the 'Officer's Battlepod' from Macross, which is what you'll find it you ever look for model kits of it. If you're looking for minis, you better check eBay. It's a really long and complicated story, but Battletech hasn't had the rights to use the 'images' from the old Robotech mechs (like the Marauder, Warhammer, etc) since the mid 90's, so you won't find any Btech minis of those new or in stores.

Here's another pic of the Marauder Battletech mini. This is another one I made back in 2004.
