Description Chapter 1:
Snoot stood in the falling rain; it's my fault, Norma. Why wasn't I there? I could've have stopped you! I could've saved your life! The life I forever loved! Norma's picture stood by her tombstone. It was the last family photo they took. Snoot could remember, the day he lost his wife and his world.
Norma looked in the pet store window, "Is that the one you want?" asked Snoot looking at the teacup Pomeranian, "I sure she needs a good home." Norma smiled as the puppy licked the glass and then started chasing his tail. Snoot stood up and glanced at his watch, "Norma," he whispered, "We better go or else you're going to be late." Norma stood up and fixed her dress. She waved to the puppy as they started walking. Norma hugged Snoot as he watched the street light, "You're going to be great today. I know it."
Norma looked at herself in the mirror. Her dressing room was large and decorated with movie posters, I can't do this. What if I mess up? What am I thinking of? I'm going to do fine? Now where is my husband? Snoot walked into the dressing room, holding a red rose, "Their ready for you, Norma," he said, "Ready?" Norma looked at Snoot with tears, "Oh honey," continued Snoot, "You don't need to hide around me. You know I don't care what your voice sounds like." Norma couldn't speak, all she did was stood up and kiss Snoot, "I love you, Snoot" she said walking out.
Norma lay on the couch. Waving her hand, in the air, a waiter came by and offered her a drink. Snoot watched and smiled, I'm glad that you are the best, Norma. After the first take, Norma started feeling a little dizzy, so Snoot took her back to her dressing room. After taking her temperature, Snoot decided to take her home. "Your temperature is 100. So I want you to relax for the rest of the day." said Snoot lying her down, "I'll be right back." Norma grabbed Snoot's hand before he left, "Don't leave me," she said, "I don't want to be alone." Snoot sat down next to the bed, "I'll be right back," he said, "I'm going to get some ice and call a doctor. You wait here."
Norma laid her head back as the doctor checked her heartbeat and temperature, "When did this start?" asked the doctor. "About two hours ago," answered Snoot, "She started getting a little dizzy. So I brought her home." "She's alright," said the Doctor a few minutes later, "It's just a little head cold. Keep some ice on her and she'll be fine." Snoot did exactly what the doctor told him to do. He never left her and kept ice on her forehead. Three days passed and Norma only seemed to get worse. She stayed asleep and her little cold turned to a fever. The doctor was forced to give her an IV and some medicine. Snoot was more worried about Norma than he ever was.
"Please tell me, my wife is going to alright," said Snoot leading the doctor out of their mansion, "I don't know," reposed the doctor, "Snoot, don't worry so much. I've been through cases like this a hundred times before. She'll be fine."
The black and white film played on the movie screen. Snoot chewed on the soft mint, as he watched Norma's silent films. In the other room, Norma awoke. Her favorite blanket was covering her arms and a bowl of warm water next to her. Getting out of bed, Norma wrapped her blanket around her cold body. She heard her husband laughing coming from the movie room. That was the one thing Norma loved to hear more than anything, his laughing.
