The Elite Clone Troopers of the 1031th Attack Legion were hand-selected by the most important and respected officers in the legion. All men selected to become elite troopers would have to match a stringent list of various characteristics, the most important of which were excellent physical and mental condition, being intelligent and resourceful, and knowing how to retain important information. They received severe training , and even underwent an entire week in a real simulation of military prisoners . In this simulation the candidates were treated like prisoners and were tortured both physically and mentally, this served to strengthen them both physically and mentally. They were also put through hellish interrogations, so their instructors could see how well recruits were able to withstand torture and interrogation and keep the Republic's secrets.
After four hellish months of training and torture, those who were able to withstand it all and pass all the tests would become Elite Troopers, the men who would always be an important factor in every victory for the 1031st Legion.
The elite Troopers, would be constantly sent to enemy territories, with the objective of infiltrating and studying all enemy behaviors, they performed tasks of espionage, infiltration, assassination and sabotage. They were often tasked with clearing all terrain for the forces of the 1031st Legion, who would be responsible for carrying out invasions of enemy territory. Eliminating key enemy officers and sabotaging enemy defenses, elite troopers would do anything to make the job easier for their brethren who would carry out the invasion.
Elite troopers were the most respected and admired troops within the 1031st Legion.
