This is so beautifully done, I love how you handled the waves and there's such a great sense of depth to it all with the receding of the rocks into the blue! Great composition.

Hello! Popping over from the critique thread.
First of all, I'm very impressed by your skill at atmospheric perspective. I think you did a great job on making the things closest to us very clear and letting it blur as it goes back. Landscapes are not my forte, so I'm always awed when people do it right. I think you did a fantastic job on the water, and I love the textures you added to the painting. The island is great. I love how bright and vibrant everything is.
A few small things to look for: It could use a little more contrast. I'm not sure what program you were doing this in, but in Photoshop something like a curves layer would darken the dark and lighten the lights a bit- I think that could help push it even more. I also wonder about the rocks being too close to the same shape. It's hard to force things to seem random, but when it comes to landscapes making things like rocks and trees similar sizes/shapes can seem redundant and unnatural. I've had issues myself with this is the past!
Overall, great work. I took a look at your 'before and after' meme, and I think you're improving in leaps and bounds. Let me know if you ever need another eye, I'd love to see what you do in the future

You put a lot of thought into this as to the different elements that should be included. The jagged rocks do add to the overall feel of the picture.

so cute mermaid, nice background coloring, amazing details of the bubbles.. I like the two levels under and above.. the only thing i'm not sure about is the rocks that gets out of the water, the top are very sharp and the splashes aren't realistic. In general it's amazing work. Β
