Note
: NO, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ALTERNATE HISTORY SERIES ABOUT GUNPOWDER EMPIRES. It's just fun dumb garbage I want to lay out for design experimentation.

I'm heading back to college tomorrow... which means I'll be posting less than I did during the semester break. IMO, I do need a break from churning out content all day. While I do pride myself on making the best maps that I can while publishing it at tremendous speed, it does get boring at times as it feels less of a creative endeavor. Don't get me wrong, I still love making this shit, just not in rapid fire. Anyway, here's the basics:

-- Description --

After landing in the dense jungles of the Borikén, Abu Bakr II has returned to his homeland with new discoveries: from maize, guavas, to even gold. It has been 200 years that the land has not been discovered by many voyagers, but it wasn’t until the first European set their foot on the Island. The year is 1500, a mark of a new century, where the once few backward tribes has now developed into functioning kingdoms and tried to expand their territory to its zenith.

huh, I alway figured Abu Bakr II would have landed somewhere along the Amazon given ocean currents.

I always wonder myself why, say, RL Mali or Morocco doesn't even stumble to The Americas even by accident while a loony Italian boi who persuaded The Spanish Monarch to fund him with merely 3 ships are able to pave the way for the Spaniards to colonize the entire Central America...

Wouldn't it make more sense for the expedition to land in Brazil?

This is a template where I experiment with the combinations of political and topographic, and how to deal with situational boundaries. I'm planning to make Fallout: East Coast soon and this merely a test site for me.

Lore-wise, I would've imagine Abu Bakr II just wandering aimlessly until he hits Puerto Rico. You're right that landing at the tip of Brazil is a far more plausible situation, especially with its distance and ocean current, but there's not much to do worldbuilding-wise.

Also, I love archipelagos, despite being a pain in the ass to make.
