to get the vivid colours I usually run a photoshop action - 'colour pop'. You can find the action I used on this photo here:

Not sure why you're images are coming out dark - I am fairly new to photography it's a bit hit and miss for me still

ah ok, thats weird.. oh wait, when you took this picture which setting did you put it too like program/full auto/ landscape etc.
also did u raise the exposure thing (Av +-) button
cos i dont get it, can u try like in manual mode, and raise the aperture, it makes the photo darker

Trying to remember the one I used for this - pretty sure it was the Tamron 17-50mm. All my images are set to manual, RAW format. If they aren't well balanced I tweek the brightness/contrast in Photoshop before running my actions.

Hey this photo is awesome, can i ask how'd you get the vivid colours? also how did you get the photo that bright, i tried the shutter and aperture setting you've used and my photos turn out really dark, because i want to blur my background. thankyou
