Description
This was the closest we ever got to any animals--about five feet. No, not on foot (that would be incredibly foolish) but in the van. This guy was basically touching the shoulder of the road and all we had to do was open the side door and take a picture. If he even flinched, my dad could've droven off quicker than he could've done anything. It was a nice opportunity.Related content

Inside joke on our trip, but we basically compared buffalos to the poodle version of cows.

Bison are very nearsighted and extremely temperamental, especially the bulls. Those horns are well known for gutting the horses right out from under Northern Plains American Indian Hunters with a single turn and lift of the head. They are extremely dangerous, particularly if they are not used to constant human contact. These are wild animals, they should be kept at a distance and left in the wild where they belong.
