I've always wanted to put together a compilation of concepts and designs for a character. Jeq was the perfect example in this case since, well, as you can see, she's been through a lot of different looks, hahaha. I did my best to incorporate a lot of what I learned during the process here, or at least the main experiences that stood out to me. (As far as I know, I had green curry and sushi the night I was drawing the silhouettes . . . it was a delicious night.)I think I might try something like this again in the future. But what do you think, guys? Is the color distracting? Are the quantity of sketches too bulky? Tell me what I can improve!

Your description of the creative process was fantastic, thank you!! I like the color, because it sets this apart from just a sketch page or a character page. There seems to be a good balance of sketches to words, in my mind, and you really captured the way thought and design work, that weird meld of surprise, scattered trial ideas, and planned changes

Haha, thank you! I think this is one of the few occasions I ever went through an actual trial-and-error process since most of my characters were designed straight from mind to paper. (Not all of them looked extraordinary though, lol.) However, I think I learned the most from designing Jeq.
