History:

Azalea Forest is where the Omori family decided to flee after the blight spread throughout major populated areas and neighboring village’s centuries ago. Losing so many of their already dwindling stantler numbers to the blight, fear and the trauma kept them in the woodlands for generations to come, rarely venturing into towns only if necessary and to look for potential mates to bring back home.

It was Utano’s father who encouraged the family to return to civilization, some were hesitant but followed anyway, moving to the Azalea Settlement to adjusted to the new living style, a few years later a few moved just outside Wisteria opening a teahouse.

The culture shock had a huge impact on Utano, with all these distractions in a place she strayed away from her schooling skipping class often, following a few friends striving to become geishas Utano later dropped out and worked at her families’ teahouse to pay off the lingering debts.

The teahouse was doing fine or so it seemed, bought out by a gang the Omori teahouse was a front while an extension into the back was converted into a gambling den. Gradually being included to the side job, Utano became well adjusted learning the ropes and becoming a dealer hosting Chō-han and other bets on nightly bases enjoying the lifestyle and thrill.

Parents feared that their daughter Utano had joined one of the gangs who frequently visited the back shop. She did -- but not the ones they were fearing.
