Description Perspective homework done with graphite. For those curious of how this is "perspective", it's atmospheric/aerial perspective meaning you see the effect the atmosphere has on the appearance of an object when it is viewed at a distance.

I'm don't particularly like how the girl with the flower came out, but I like my elk. I have a thing for big furry mammals.

Camera butchered the picture - looks better in life.

Nice! Reminds me of "Pan's Labyrinth" in a way.

I love big furry animals too. The bigger and fluffier the better, I say!

Anyways, nice picture you've got here. While it doesn't come across as a perspective-oriented assignment (though there is good perspective in the trees), I think what really shines here is the lighting. The lighting is done wonderfully. From the light playing off the elk's face to the glow in the forest beyond, I've gotta say that the lighting is gorgeous. You even added a little dot of light to the elk's eye. Aaah. The trees to the left side of the piece, I think I love those the best. The distant trees are light, like there's a mist creeping in.

What would be really neat for this picture would be some color. Have you considered giving it some sort of color wash? I'm thinking a blue or a green might look nice for this one... maybe some purple. Hmm...

But very nicely done, Spritey. I like it a lot!

I just edited what kind of perspective in my description - thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks for the detailed comment, Ribs. I've still got a lot of growing to do, but am glad to hear people are enjoying it so far. Tried the color wash before, and oddly enough didn't work out very well.
