wow this is fab! I love Oblivion and just completed it. I was nearly crying at the end, when Martin turned into the dragon.

Yeah, it's quite a good game. Hope you had some of the DLC's installed, they triple the fun and the game lasts so much longer. I completed the game at least 4 times as an evil and good character, but I wanted more than any DLC or mod could provide. If you like Oblivion, you might get a kick out of Fallout 3. It's pretty much the same game engine based in a post apocalyptic Washington. I'm about to reinstall it to complete a third time with a mass of mods and all the DLC's installed. I just hope it won't crash...

I wanted to download the Kvatch Rebuild mode but i didn't want it to like, disrupt the game or anything .

Sheogorath was much younger during the years of Morrowind.

Thanks. I was planning on doing the gods statues at some stage, then another one where all the races are taking time out in a tavern. Finding the time was a problem. Glad you liked this one.

I find it interesting that when you meet shaogorath, he doesn't have the hat that his stature has. I mean that is good, but why put that gay hat on the statue?

Sheogorath is the Mad God. The 'gay' hat can be dubbed 'mad' as well, I know he doesn't wear it when you meet him. I guess the reason is because Shivering Isles came later and they figured they could do without it.
While we're on Oblivion, ever noticed how much of the game you miss if you play a lawful? The more evil you act, the more stuff is revealed, to say nothing about the weapons. Especially if you are a vampyr... pure blood lust.
When I get the chance, I might make a series of individual statues in their own environments or elemental attributed scenery.

That is true, one of the first things I do with every character is to follow the dark brotherhood missions. With the infinite money glitch with the MPC Dorian, I am usually set with ANY fine anyway. Basically becomes no skin off my nuts to pay the fine and forget about it. The down side to the glitch is that the mission with Clavicus Vile will crash your game if you are not consciously aware of how to do it without letting the hound statue become part of your inventory. Good stuff.

As I don't go to Oblivion forums or fan sites, I'm unaware of any money glitch. I don't like exploiting glitches that much as they often cause irreparable anomalies after a save.
I've never had a problem with money. I don't cheat if I can help it, however... occasionally if I get an issue I can't fix, I'll use the command console. Like clipping mode to get out of places I might get stuck in. I have to say, I was console mad and spoiled my game the first time I played vanilla... never again.
Some of the expansion files and a few official patches fix the Clavicus Vile mission I think, but I've not done it since all the updates, so I'm not sure.

I do the clavicus vile mission so I don't have to give away azuras star. A permanent grand soul gem is a sweet deal, though umbra is a decent sword.

I see what you mean, yeah, it sucks to lose the star and the Umbra is a good sword... for a while anyway. I find soul gems plentiful and when the chance comes about, I throw a minor soul trap spell at those altars that give the black gems. You can capture a grand soul in them which is almost as good as a Varla stone on one item.
Problem with collecting so many gems is the weight, which is why I'm female elf mage/archer with very light armor and high stealth/security/sneak etc. I absolutely love the protection, attributes and the look of the Dark Brotherhood suit on a chick.

The dark brotherhood is too short for me, I love the dark brotherhood and I wish it could be longer. Thank god for the thieves guild.
Umbra is a good sword, but I always give it up for the masque of Clavicus Vile sooner or later because most of the other daedric artifacts are good items and the masque is not really all that great. And it looks extremely gay. LOL!

As I've played this game over and over... I've just finished 90% or Shivering Isles this time around, which I wanted to finish first because of the easier battles and equipment. I've not started the Brotherhood mission yet (although, I committed a murder in the Isles... you know what happens next). I was thinking about doing all the Knights of the Nine missions first and begin on Cyrodil proper with a head start.
If you think the masque is gay, I donned around a full Amber set for most of the Shivering Isles and I still have them, I'll be keeping them until I get my first Sigil Stone.

Yeah, I just think the masque is hard to take seriously. It gives a good boost to personality, but I prefer the wheel system of gaining charisma. It helps immensely with gaining experience. I usually set speech craft, athletics and marksman as main skills to level up faster. I was disappointed that there weren't any cross bow's in the game though. At least not that I have found.
In the dark brother hood, a high marksmanship skill is a big help.
I have not done the knights of the nine yet, my oblivion disk caught a radial scratch and I am going without for a while. I have done the Shaogorath and shivering isles mission a couple of times. My favorite sword in the game is Dawn Fang/Dusk Fang that you get from that set of missions. THough it loses charm as the game gets more difficult.

Because I like to play evil and murderous, I always opt for sneak, stealth and marksman skills because they also contribute to other skills like security, accuracy and ranged weapons. I pick loads of ingredients and become a master alchemist very quickly to produce lots of invisibility and chameleon potions and keep 2 rings of light and nighteye handy. I also try to have equipment with the same attributes until I can sneak right in front of people undetected in a well lit area.
If I get adventurous towards the end of the game, I create a separate save and kill everything that moves and see how far I get without getting arrested.
Yeah, the Dusk/Dawn Fang was interesting at first if you like close-quarter combat, but I'm a backstabber/ranged sniper while in sneak for the damage multiplier.
Pity about your disk. I'm a backup freak and I have a massive database of images stored away safely as well as the original disks which I try not to use too often. I prefer to mount to virtual drives rather than patch the executables.
On a final note, this thread is getting very long... not that I mind, but we should probably continue this in personal notes because I can go on Oblivion forever. To say nothing about other popular RPG games. Don't misunderstand, I am thoroughly enjoying this conversation, it's just that they are getting quite epic.
