For all the night I had been thinking about it and the more I though about it the more I was determined to stick to my decisions. I was no pup anymore and I had to act accordingly, to stay focused and coldly analyze the situation.
Yes.
My plan was simple but I didn't have any intention of failing. Not this time. If you fail once and loose everything doesn't mean you're bound to the same destiny again. I won't tolerate a failure this time.
The morning air was fresh and clear while I was running towards the hideout, inside the house and finally, slower, up the stairs. I stopped in front of her room. My chest was haching. I ignored it and pushed the door that opened without resistance. Her smell made me feel even worse. No. Sialuk behave! She's still alive, she's well... She's not... Ana. I breathe deep. Surely Madison and Rex are in a worse situation. And some of my pack mates aren't going to make it without treatments. You can't help Lisha right now, not alone at least, nor even Rex or Madison but you can help the pack.
In my life I've been ill, wounded and attacked many times, I know how to take care of wounds perfectly... Plus all that time spent with Lisha was instructive. I'd be a healer in her honour.
It felt quite good to have a purpose once again... Something to live for.
Were did she put all her erbs? Bandages?
I searched for a while in hurry as I just wanted to exit from that room.
Finally I managed to find everything I needed and I headed toward the room where the injured dogs where.
I'd have never imagined I'd end up as a healer but it totally didn't bother me.
From lead dog to healer
I slightly smiled.
