Description A little request to my dear friend and sister figure

She asked me to draw my OC David with Madoka Kaname in her God/Ultimate form or in this caseΒ Madokami/Godoka or however you pronounce it. Wanted to get this done on the third of October since that's consider Madoka's birthday, damn you procrastination.

I tried taking my instructors advice on what I've learned in drawing 1 by using a few of my figmas for shading and looked at some Madokami figma photos to help me draw her a little. The only issue was the angles in how they were set. Knew I should've bought Ultimate Madoka figma at one of the cons. Still, glad to have put some of my new skills to use. Also I'm not too fond of the background to much, wanted it to resemble the Milky Way if you noticed something in the background Good for you.Β

It’s just fanart and also a request.

Basically, my character is supposed to be a guardian and somewhat love interest to Madoka that he ends up seeing her in her God form and the two are sharing their affection for one another. It’s just typical fanart really and sometimes ideas from rps with friends make me wanna draw stuff like this.

It's most likely the rp's I did with friends, based on another friend's idea. I guess at one point, David and Madoka grew so close to one another he feels like protecting her from any harm, almost like a body guard.

Guess not. Then again, we never brought the movie up in our rps, probably cause some of our friends were too sensitive about it. Thou I wouldn't mind bringing it up in one of my fanfics if I could.Β

Yeah, but then again, both the TV series and movie adaptions are both separate entities.


For example, in the TV anime Sayaka loses her hairpin in her magical girl form, but in the movies based on it, she still has it.

Thanks I told my sister figure the rp's we had with Madoka and she liked the idea of David as her guardian and wanted to see a drawing of it herself.Β 

That's a relief it took me awhile to draw but the background I wish had made the coloring a bit smoother. Still it was a nice success. Β

I seem to have decent luck looking up expression sheets of people with pictures of them doing random
ones and just trying to reference those to draw in my own style.

I look up reference sheets of expressions all the time, even looking at my books but sometimes when drawing them they just don't turn out right I gotta keep practicing on that. Guess its the style I'm drawing them in which throws me off.Β

Could well be. Have you tried...trying to think of the term...base sketching or some such?
Where you just draw a circle, oval or rectangle head shape, and then do a very simplified
basic shape or just a few lines for the expression? Draw With Jazza had a video on youtube
that helped me a ton with that.
