Say NO to Dev Art for deleting my previous works!I did put the mature tag in my works!
I hope anybody who support this could fav this and link it/ link the thumbnail in your journal..
I dont do this for myself.. I did it for the sake of art and hardwork done by all the artist here in DA..

I was so happy when I saw this, so many times my works got deleted even when I had the strict mature tag or for things that weren't even vulgar offensive.
The manner that images are handled are a combination of moderator personal opinion, legal vague lines and member rage.
In total though all it promotes is a negative attitude overall and a restricted attitude towards the artists.
If I say a girl is covered in vanilla ice cream then why can someone delete my picture and say it looks too much like semen..not my fault they had the pervert mind to say it was something else.

I am in agreement too. I mean...This site is called DeviantART isn't it? For one Deviant...Come on o.o and it has ART in it and art is art you shoulden't delete ART from an ART site.

dA's system and admins are messed up. I have no idea how old the admins are ( for all we know they could have just turned 18 and are STILL sorting out teenage issues), but I think the conflict lies with them.
Pretty sure more often than not, friends and personal likes and dislikes, and favoritism come before the actual rules, to them.
Power corrupts, and people in power, to get revenge, will lord their power over others. When someone frustrates them, they rule in a blind rage. It pretty much means that you do not want to anger them...which generally should be an issue to begin with, because good admins should be able to swallow their pride and deal fairly.
One other thought would be that some of the admins have yet to learn the difference between "nude" and "naked" -shrugs-

You guys... seriously. I've seen 'explicit' stuff, and it hasn't been removed yet because these artists aren't well-known.
And what makes some of the Photography alright just because it has pretty colors or just because it's Photography?
Now I mean seriously, I know a girl who has hella lot of yaoi on her profile and 'adult content' as you would call it, she has 100k pageviews, and no one has done nothing about it.
Despite I have done nothing to break any of these rules, why? I mean, isn't everything put on here 'art' or just what you find to be appropriate?

If you feel so strongly about this, I would say take it up with the staff. I've had good experiences talking directly to them.
I'll also make mention that this artist is attempting to rally users against DA, but remains here as a user (his last post was on May 14 at the time of this comment). Appears he is encouraging an action he himself will not take.

I ain't taking sides here...It's an issue that could go either way for me (because there are so many "What if" situations, you know?) but...
I doubt they're going to change the rule. If you say "No" to DeviantArt, then why are you here? There's plenty of other online communities you can go to, that do allow stuff like this. No one's forcing you to stay.
And I don't mean any sarcasm on this. No disrespect or anything. A nicely done pic for the message, but I'm just curious as to why you'd stay at a place you don't like?

The rules apply to every deviation, placing mature content doesn't exempt you from that

There is a reason for the MATURE TAG thing....the little young and innocent children that should be monitored by their mommys and daddys should MAKE SURE their children don't see dirty things....

dA is super annoying when it comes to sexual anime fanart. .__.
Even if the characters in the drawing are clearly full grown adults, if they're underage in the series, it gets deleted... -__-

Difference between nude photos and ''sexy'' anime pics, is that you can't argue with the photographer. They can post anything and say it's art(because they have a different point of view than others), but when you look at an anime pic you see what everyone else sees.

Photographers aren't the only ones that see things differently - every artist has their on outlook on their subject/portrayal of something, I think.
But I guess it's more of asking every individual whether something is art or "sexy" as everyone has their own view on what they categorize it as. The admins are people as well, so they'll have different opinions as to whether it is unacceptable to dA or fine, whether they should leave it alone or delete it.

i sorta thought the same thing about every artist(both) judging their own work after i posted my comment, but couldn't edit it.
still, though they are indeed people, they seem to have the same view on that naked pics=ok, semi naked drawings=delete/move. i don't mean that all nude photographs are porn, it's just that some are obviously inappropriate. of course not to say that drawings have their share of porn as well. at the same time it's been a long time since i've been on DA, so the admins might have gotten around to been more fair.

It's a hard topic to discuss with admins/any user I guess. Each of them have a view on what counts as porn, and you can't really change that. The general population realizes that porn is porn, and art is art. Some may be more sensitive to nudity and "sexual"/provocative poses that are on the borderline of art and porn. Some people think it's sexy and that it's art! Other's deem it inappropriate and just plain porn. If they're more sensitive/likely to get offended to things like that, then they'll be thinking that it's just inappropriate for the deviantart community, even with the mature "protection".
But the admins can't please every single user, right? This thing is something that'll never really be "corrected" as it's based on the admin's and users own beliefs and such.

i guess if you put that way, i can do nothing but agree. they can't take down every single deviation that had even the slightest of nudity just to please people too sensitive, that would just make everyone else angry. but then again, im just restating you're point, so you can probably just ignore this reply.
