Is this a replica or the real deal?

I would guess replica.  I didn't get to talk to the owner.

Six Shelbys were built over two years, 1964 - 1965, to compete in the manufacturers GT category dominated by Ferrari and eventually winning the FIA Sports Car Championship on July 4, 1965.  Owning one of those race cars is nearly impossible as they are valued in millions of dollars.

Shelby announced plans to build 50 new replicas in 2015, they come in two versions.  The aluminum car, faithful to the six built in the 1960's, starts at $349,995 (without drivetrain), and a fiberglass version starts at $179,995.  Story -> www.autoblog.com/2015/07/17/sh…

I see I mean I have seen tons of nice replicas of the classic cobra. Its not always a bad thing but damn this is just so nice it begs the question "is that one of the six?"

The wheels are the giveaway that it's not one of the actual six. Look at the tire profiles- more modern tires. The color of the headers is also a clue, the originals were painted white.

Also, see the inspection stickers for street use. None of the six are used for street use today. CSX2287 is at the Simeone museum unrestored and the other 5 are extensively vintage raced in period markings.

It's okay- there are also the Brock Superformance Coupes and the Factory Five cars out there that are very close to the original in shape. There are several pics of actual Daytona coupes on DA, and I have several pics of CSX2287 in my gallery.
