Description Field armor likely worn by Siegmund Friedrich, Freiherr von Herberstein (d. 1621), an aristocrat from Southern Germany.  Weighing in at 41 pounds, the suit features a folding faceplate that adjusts for better visibility and leg-guards that detach at mid-thigh allowing for greater mobility but increasing the risk of injury.  With additional trade-in pieces, the armor can be customized for use in battle or sport, on foot or horseback.
