Drex's Color Scheme V 1.60 has been released. A new color has been adopted for the Hungarian People's Republic:

Why don't you put your own color to the vassals with an outline of the dominant country?

Because they’re satellites not vassals

Okay. But from this picture, how to use Drex's Color Scheme (broadly)? Note: Image taken from the scheme itself.

Well, there is a central color which is the color of the country itself and its army, the light color which are its direct vassals, dark colors which are its territories and not-fully incorporated territories of a nation

More mistakes in map:
1. The Santa Cruz Islands are part of New Hebrides.
2. New Hebrides are Anglo-French condominium.
3. The Revillagigedo Islands are part of Mexico and Clipperton Island is a possession of France:

More mistakes:

1. The Federal District (Brazil) must be painted the same color as the federal territories. The same goes for DC (United States).

2. The Pitcairn Islands is part of the United Kingdom.

3. Bhutan is a sovereign state: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_…

Some questions:

1. What color scheme did you use on this map? And how do you use the shades?

2. Whereas you use Drex's Color Scheme, Libya's and United Kingdom's color would not be wrong?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sharklord1 In reply to Gabcd123 [2019-05-30 19:41:43 +0000 UTC]

1. The Federal District of Brasil isn't a territory, but is in fact it's own federative unit within brazil, meaning it has similar status among the states.

2. I'll fix that.

3. I will fix that as well.

I loosely used Drex's color scheme but I used traditional shading and for each type of status and traditional coloration for Libya and the UK. You have the central coloration normal for each country, but the lighter ones for vassals, protectorates, or autonomous areas that have relaxed control by a certain government force. Whereas I use the darker scheme for territories and similar divisions. The darkest and lightest shades I do not often use if at all.

As for Libya and the UK, I believe that Great Britain and the UK's coloration should be switched around, and I chose green for the Libyan Republic because it and the Senussi, the ruling monarchs, were different. So I chose green to represent the monarchy.

1. I understand, but Drex painted with the second darker shade: Q-BAM World Map (Colour)
2. Thank you very much.
3. Thank you very much, again. Bhutan was the only protectorate from India from 1947 until 1949 when it recognized the independence of Bhutan.
4. Why did not you use the second lighter shade for the Soviet satellite states?
5. I only use the darkest tone for the self-governing colonies, territories under company rule, and for British Dominions.
6. I did not understand. In one piece you speak that green represents monarchy, and elsewhere, you speak that green represents republic.

Sharklord1 In reply to Gabcd123 [2019-05-30 21:34:18 +0000 UTC]

1. I know

4. Because the states are satellite states, not vassals or protectorates. It seems like a weird thing but I actually considered doing that and decided against it.

5. If you want to use it in that way, you can.

6. What do you mean

Gabcd123 In reply to Sharklord1 [2019-05-30 21:55:27 +0000 UTC]

1. Okay.
2. Okay again.
3. Among the cases where I use the darkest shade, which shade do you use?
4. First, you say "I chose green for the Libyan Republic." Then you say "I chose green to represent the monarchy.".
And one more thing: The Brazilian Federal District and the American are directly administered by the federal government.

3. Okay.
4. I apologize for you.

1. The Brazilian Federal District and the American are directly administered by the federal government.
2. What color do you use for the occupied territories?
3. Did Egypt gain independence from the United Kingdom in 1922 or 1952?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sharklord1 In reply to Gabcd123 [2019-05-31 05:26:37 +0000 UTC]

1. Which is why I have the colors the same.

2. I use the same colors as I would for the normal countries

3. 1922, but the British occupied it during WW2, so it was probably official by 1952

More mistakes:

1. The Coco Islands are part of Burma.
2. Phu Quoc is part of (South) Vietnam.
3. The colors of the rebels in South Vietnam (Viet Cong) represent the monarchy:

4. The Paracel Islands is claimed by China, Taiwan, and Vietnam, but they are controlled de facto by China.

Sharklord1 In reply to Gabcd123 [2019-06-01 03:09:30 +0000 UTC]

1. Fixed

2. Fixed

3. I chose it for the Viet cong because the normal color for the Vietcong was the same as NV, and I prefer the orange for monarchist Vietnam. I will change it to regular NV colors though.

4. Paracel Islands aren't under de-facto PRC control until 1974

3. Thank you very much, again.
4. Oh, I did not know that.

One question: Why do you use the green color for South Vietnam instead of the orange color?

One more mistake:

1. Cocos Island is part of Costa Rica.
