Designed by the small manufacturer Mitchell Mech Works the Minuteman would go on to serve alongside the Watchman and Sentry as a 'Mech largely seen in miliitia units or at training academy's, designed to be cheap, ease to repair and pilot the designers used as many off the shelf components as possible. Including the frame the 'Mech was based on, which was the positively ancient Swordsman 'Mech, one of House Davion's earliest designs.
Because the Swordsman was tainted by association with it being widely used by the losing side of the Davion Civil War the 'Mech was redesigned to look visually different and was marketed as an entirely new design.
