Description Length - 630 meters
Displacement - 595,000 tonnes
Crew Compliment - 240

A Clan refit of the successful and popular Riga II class escort carrier, the original Riga II was one of the last frigates built by the SLDF and was designed to serve as an escort for the McKenna class battleship and Luxor class cruiser and support them with its large (for the time) aerospace fighter compliment. Whilst only 26 were built, a large number survived the Amaris Civil War and went into exile with the SLDF.

In the Clans service the Riga II was completely rebuilt and re-modeled into a far more capable warship, with a thick hide, potent armament and most impressively, her 50 fighters that were enough to overwhelm most opposition.  The combination of fighters and her heavy punch made the York capable of punching well above their weight, and a further dozen were built to serve with various Clan naval fleets.

Here you can see the CGB Ursa Minor launching one of her dropships whilst 20 fighters patrol nearby.

Art by the amazing - mattplog.deviantart.com/ who I can't thank enough for accepting my commissions.  This is the last of the Battletech ships for a while, I'm working on putting together a small fanon PDF with the art in them for folks.

I like this design, especially since it depicts a Clan Ghost Bear vessel. I have a quick question though, seeing as you appear to have given the weapons placements: any idea where on a York class warship the 4 medium NPPCs are? As are they ventral, dorsal, split 2 per broadside, forward facing, aft facing, or split fore-aft? Or is it never specified?

When commissioning these I didn't specify the weapon placement with the York that the two big cannons on the upper bow are the NAC-40's whilst the dual fixed mounts are the NPPC's but they'd fire as one quartet of guns and that Plog split them for asthetic reasons.

It is alright, I managed to get an answer from another source. Regardless, thank you for the prompt response to my inquiry.
