This is done with watercolours pencils and water... so it looks like something between a pencil drawing and a watercolour painting.

The scanner makes the colours much more vibrant than they really are, on paper the blood looks fairly realistic, I took extra care with the shade. (I mixed two types of red and some black) But since this is such a psycho picture I do not think the blood even needs to look realistic.

This reminds me of Labyrinth, the part where Jeroth is sitting in his throne contemplating things right before the "Dance Magic Dance" number. Nice clean line work and great coloring. Is that colored pencil?
