History: Slingshot was both son and protege to Optimus Prime, intended to take on the Matrix of Leadership after his Sire.
His relationship with Optimus was that of Master and Student- Optimus wished to have a worthy successor prepared if he were to pass, and Sentinel was the ideal Autobot he had hoped for.
The ultimate seal of his faith in Sentinel, was when he was deemed worthy to wield the legendary weapons of the Primes. A lance and shield, that only one who showed potential of being a Prime could wield, for these weapons were highly linked to the original thirteen Primes.

Tragically, Slingshot's bright future was cut short in a heroic sacrifice to save his Sister and his close friend Jazz from the Wrath of Megatron. Slingshot fought his hardest to hold off the Gladiator while buying time for the other two to escape, but tragically he was not capable enough to stop the Decepticon Leader- and his life was taken from him that day.

Sentinel had an honorable death, but unfortunately Megatron would not allow him to keep that. The cruel tyrant had much more sinister plans in mind...
