Description PLEASE NOTE!!! The original head base was not of my own work but that of Qarrezel's. This head was constructed by her 5 years ago and was originally this: [link] I ave only refurbished it!

Anywhoooo :3 Finished this hansom mask up today and I'm adoring it. This mask as been gone over completely, the only thing left untouched is the base itself, the nose, and the jawset. Here's what's been done:

1. Old fur stripped. padding removed, broken hinges repaired and reattached.

2. New padding inserted, clean new jawcup placed, eyelids ever so slightly reshaped to remove the O.O look achieved from many angles.

3. New fur added, new ears, and a new sculpted lip added.

4. Individually placed porcupine quill hair whiskers upon the muzzle and brow. Airbrushed details and a touchup with the brush and gloss.

Overall I'm very pleased with how it came out and can only hope I have done it justice. The name may change as I'm contemplating on selling Cowboy and keeping this one after all.

Wow, porcupine quills - I wouldn't have thought of that. I am surprized you even found an eqivalent supplier for something like that. (aside from the procupine, I can only hope.)

Sharpe19 In reply to Ashiichan [2012-06-07 14:31:06 +0000 UTC]

It's not so much the "quill" itself, as the fur that grows over top of for porcupine so the hair is soft and flexible

Geez, well, even still - I can't imagine they are easy to find. I suppose you can buy and dissemble hog hair brushes, but they are pretty expensive in the first place, and not nearly as long.

The hair can be purchased upon skin and pelt sites for fairly cheap (as well as common)as that is where I often get small items such as that.

Really? I didn't know people still sold pelts hair-on. I suppose I've had enough of a hard time trying to find any sort of sewing/millerenry/etc. supplies that I often assume "no one does that anymore" - atleast in the US.

Haha nooo... If you know enough hunters/trappers/tannery places, such items are readily available. <3

He's become again a real beauty, I especially like how you turned the tigre into a more lionish character. But to my personal taste the grey shadings look more like dust or dirty spots in some places, maybe a darker brown would have been warmer?

Nevertheless, again a wonderful work of some of my favorite suitmakers <3
