In our anxiety it is easy to underestimate each-other. The irony is that our assumptions and fears of alienation from friends and family can be as extreme and ill founded as the reaction we imagine.

For those who may be confused or just popping in, this whole series of images follows fluttershy as she transitions her gender from that of a mare. I realize that this particular conflict of telling her oldest friend seems to have resolved itself suddenly, but that was never the story I want to tell. A story about characters struggling against society is a common trope much better told in other mediums. This was never meant to be an exploitative drama (however fun those may be), about some sexually repressed mare dealing with his / her arbitrary brand of sexual fluidity of the day. This is a story about personal identity, and I sort of forgot that in my stressed out state. What exactly that means is hard to define; I want to focus on fluttershy's own emotions and internal questions, not hotheaded friends.

Besides, Rainbow Dash has always been fluttershy's knight.

I know these last two pictures have been a bit under-par. I've been going through a terrible funk, and I need to power on though it, so bear with me. Thank you for reading.
