a fencer for as long as he can remember, avery had worked his way up to international level by the time he'd reached his late teens, making a name for himself for bad reasons as well as good. after one too many fights (and punching that referee like once) the league had had enough: avery was stripped of his title and banned from competing for an indefinite amount of time. deciding somewhere more quiet would do him good, his parents sent him to whimsy town to live in his sister's apartment while she left to travel so he could think over his actions.
